Tattersalls Somerville Sale – Partnering with the Next Generation

The fifth edition of the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale takes place on Tuesday 2nd September at Newmarket’s Park Paddocks.

Arthur will once again be in attendance, sourcing quality yearlings on behalf of clients, including exciting up-and-coming trainer Jack Morland, who launched his training career in 2024.

Jack brings with him a wealth of international racing experience, having worked with Brian Meehan at Manton stables, spent time in Australia with Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, and more recently honed his skills under Ed Dunlop back in England. Arthur is looking forward to supporting Jack, helping him identify and secure the right horses as he grows his new team.

This year’s catalogue features 272 yearlings, all eligible for both the £200,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes and the £200,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes. A further 51 fillies are registered for the lucrative Great British Bonus scheme, with up to £20,000 in additional prize money available per qualifying race.

Formerly the Ascot Yearling Sale, the Somerville Sale it has firmly established itself as a source of value and quality. In just the past two years alone, the Sale has produced 35 individual Group and Listed performers, underlining its reputation as a marketplace where buyers can secure future stars without the premium price tag.
